Directorate for University-Industry Linkage and entrepreneurship Development of Haramaya University organized Technology Business Idea Competition and Award program at main Campus.

The competition was launched by an opening speech of Prof. Kebede W/Tsadik (Vice President for Community Linkage and Enterprise Development) and officially the Technology Business Idea Competition was held among 22 registered teams and five jury’s evolved.

 After the results of juries were summarized and necessary follow-up was done by the steering committee, the committee announced the winners of 2019 Technology Business Idea Competition. Accordingly, the business idea on “Instant Processed and Packed Food for Children Based Cereals and Camel Milk” won the first rank, “Processed Poultry Feed Using Abattoir Waste (Rumen Content and Blood)” won the second rank, “Afan Oromo Language Digitalization” won the third rank and “Water Metering Application” won the fourth rank of the competition.

The award program was held at the University Resource Center and the winners received certificates from the hand Dr Hassen Husein, CEO of EDC-Ethiopia. The winner of this competition will be hosted in Technology Business Incubation Center of the University for Further Development of their business ideas to marketable products.
