HU staff Praises Project C.U.R.E. for Transformative Healthcare Support

Dr. Elias Ahmed Sadik, a Member of Parliament for the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and an academic staff member at Haramaya University, delivered a heartfelt speech at Project C.U.R.E.’s headquarters, expressing profound gratitude for the organization’s significant contributions to Ethiopia’s healthcare system.

Dr. Elias Ahmed SadikDuring his first visit to America, Dr. Elias commended Project C.U.R.E., its leadership, particularly Dr. Douglas Jackson, and vital partners for their unwavering commitment to delivering life-saving medical equipment and supplies to often unreachable areas of Ethiopia.

“Your unwavering mission to reach the world’s most vulnerable, specifically targeting critical health challenges where resource insufficiency remains major bottlenecks,” Dr. Elias stated, highlighting the organization’s empathy and dedication to humanity. He noted Project C.U.R.E.’s consistent efforts in assessing health needs and providing essential resources, traversing oceans and continents repeatedly.

Dr. Elias emphasized the impactful collaborations with partners such as Islamic Relief Canada, the Diaspora Community, and Lammiif Relief and Development Organization. He credited Project C.U.R.E.’s trustworthiness and commitment for strengthening these partnerships, which have accelerated the mission’s accomplishments and even led to the foundation of Lammiif Relief and Development Organization to sustain donations.

HU staff Praises Project C.U.R.E. for Transformative Healthcare SupportDr Elias underscored the tangible results of Project C.U.R.E.’s efforts, mentioning that their contributions have “demolished and diminished the dark of hopelessness and brought the light of hope for people.” He cited the delivery of oxygen concentrators that have relieved newborns from hypoxia and surgical tools that have made rural health facilities functional, saving countless lives of infants, children, mothers, adolescents, and elders.

A special acknowledgment was given to Mrs. JoSullivan for her energetic leadership, guidance, and tireless work in navigating the complexities of delivering 35 containers of medical supplies to various health facilities across Ethiopia within two years. Dr. Elias shared his personal experience of the exhausting journey to America, realizing the immense effort JoSullivan and her team invest in their field missions.

He also praised the continuous training initiatives launched by Islamic Relief in collaboration with the government, which provide long-term solutions for sustainable use of medical equipment through training biomedical engineers and health professionals.
