Haramaya University Hiwot Fana Specialized Hospital has successfully conducted a cataract surgery campaign, restoring sight to over 100 patients in just one week.


The initiative, undertaken in partnership with Ihsan charity organizations, exceeded its initial target of 100 surgeries.


According to Dr. Abdi Amin, the hospital’s medical director, a total of 114 individuals who were visually impaired due to cataracts regained their sight. The successful campaign underscores Haramaya University’s commitment to providing accessible and quality healthcare to the underprivileged community.


Dr. Abdi expressed his sincere gratitude to Ihsan charity organizations for their invaluable support. He also extended a call to other organizations and individuals to join forces with Haramaya University in addressing public health challenges and improving the lives of those in need.


The hospital acknowledged and thanked all stakeholders who contributed to the campaign’s success, both directly and indirectly.
