Haramaya University Facilitates Humanitarian Aid Delivery to Watar Health Center
Haramaya University (HU) announced the successful facilitation of humanitarian aid delivery, reinforcing its unwavering commitment to community engagement and strengthening healthcare infrastructure in underserved regions.
Four tons of vital medical equipment, generously donated by Mr. Yadeta Juneydi, are now en route to the Watar Health Center in East Hararghe.
This initiative was made possible through a crucial partnership with Ethiopian Airlines, which, in a remarkable act of corporate social responsibility and based on an agreement with Haramaya University, transported the entire consignment from Seattle to Addis Ababa free of charge.
This substantial contribution by the national carrier directly benefits local health centers and, ultimately, Ethiopian citizens.
“This aid will directly benefit the Watar Health Center in East Hararghe, significantly strengthening healthcare access where it’s needed most,” stated Mr. Assad Fahmi, the dedicated facilitator from Haramaya University who played a pivotal role in coordinating the complex logistics of this international humanitarian effort.
The comprehensive partnership behind this project underscores a shared dedication to improving health outcomes and addressing pressing community needs. Key collaborators include Lammiif Relief & Development Organization, Partners for World Health, Brighton Trading, and the Ministry of Health. This multi-stakeholder approach exemplifies the power of collective action in addressing critical humanitarian challenges.
This significant humanitarian undertaking, showcasing the university’s proactive leadership in community service, international cooperation, and its profound impact on regional well-being.
