Two day training on Information Literacy and Reference Management was conducted in Haramaya University Library and Information Services from June 24-25, 2016.

According to Mr. Mikiyas Hailu, Director of Library and Information Services Directorate, the main objective of the training was to equip trainers with the skills needed in accessing high quality academic information as well as managing academic information during dissertation write-up. Reference management software, Medley was used during the training.

Academic Vice President of the University, Prof. Nigussie Dechassa, on his opening remark, mentioned that researchers spend on average 10 – 15 % of their time on information searching. Hence, the training is pertinent to reduce the time needed in information searching and management which would help researchers to successfully complete their studies.

The training is organized by Academic Programs Directorate in collaboration with the Postgraduate Program Directorate.
