College of Social Sciences and Humanities Academic journal inauguration workshop held on April 19, 2016.
The workshop aimed to publicize its newly launched journal entitled “East African Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities”.
The details of the journal (its rationale, scope and editorial structure) were presented on the workshop for the college’s community to deliberate on it and suggest the way forward. It was disclosed during the workshop that the journal has been launched with the intention to create a forum of scholarly and scientific communications in the various disciplines of social Sciences and Humanities and thereby to diversify publication options in the university.

Professor Nigussie Dechasa, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dr. Mengistu Ketema, Research and Publication Directorate Director, both asserted on the workshop that the sustainability and the quality of the journal launched is dependent on the professional contribution of the colleges’ community as reviewers and authors of the articles to be published in it.

The staff members of the college on their part appreciated the college’s efforts for establishing the journal and shared their knowledge and experiences on maintaining the quality and the sustainability of the journal proposed.
It was learned during the workshop that East African Journal of Social Sciences & Humanities (EAJSSH) is published biannually and researchers can submit their manuscripts for possible consideration of publication electronically to the journal’s editorial office at eajssheditorialoffice@gmail.com.
