The Gender, HIV/AIDS and Special Need Issue Mainstreaming Directorate at Haramaya University (HU) in collaboration with IPAS, College of Natural and Computational Sciences, College of Education and Behavioral Sciences, Institute of Technology Girls’ Union and Forum facilitated a welcoming ceremony forthe newly admitted female students on October 22, 24 and 26, 2016.

 The main purpose of the orientation include disseminating information about services provided by the Directorate and Girls’ Union and Forum as well as inspiring the new students by awarding outstanding senior female students in front of the audience to advise the students to use their time wisely and focus on their education to be competent .

During the occasion, Deans of College of Natural and Computational Sciences, College of Education and Behavioral Sciences, Student’s Union, Girls’ Union and Forum of female instructors and outstanding female students shared their experiences on campus, how they managed relationships, about time management, developing leadership qualities, and how they achieved the greatest scores among a large group of students.

The three Orientations were conducted at Haramaya University (HU)  Natural and Computational Sciences building (LTH 2), Collage of Law in the Moot Court the Resource Center in the main campus and IOT and college of veterinary Medicine library for half a day each.

In line with this also 50 regular students were trained on mentorship program to follow the new comer students (fresh students) to share their experience regarding life skill, campus life and other related problem.
