Haramaya University signs memorandum of understanding with Moi University, Kenya for partnership in tourism and service sector development.

Moi University is the second Public University in Kenya established in 1984. It is one of the pioneer universities in the field of tourism (with more than 30 years of experience). The University has been undertaking undergraduate degree programs in tourism and hospitality studies since 1992; Masters Programs since 2002 and PhD programs since 2005. Currently the university running 3 undergraduate, 2 Masters and 2 PhD programs in tourism and Hospitality management fields.

The two intuitions agreed to collaboratively carryout education, research, and development programs; staff and students’ exchange; as well as mobilization resources and funds from third parties.

The collaboration is believed to serve as a milestone for Haramaya University’s extensive plan for research and community engagement in tourism sector in the Eastern part of Ethiopia.
