Job Opportunity: Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Nature-Based Solutions
The Natural Resources Institute (NRI) at the University of Greenwich, a partner of Haramaya University, is seeking an outstanding and highly motivated Research Fellow (Postdoc) to join an innovative international research initiative funded by the Global Centre on Biodiversity for Climate (GCBC).
· Project: Scaling Nature-Based Solutions for Climate Resilience, Biodiversity Conservation, and Sustainable Livelihoods in Ethiopia’s Drylands: A Participatory Systems Approach
· Location: University of Greenwich (NRI), UK (with primary overseas travel and field collaboration in Ethiopia)
· Key Focus: Mixed-methods research, stakeholder engagement, participatory systems approaches, scenario analysis, and decision-support tool development.
Key Requirements
· Education: PhD in a relevant discipline with a strong background in interdisciplinary sustainability research.
· Essential Experience: Systems thinking and modeling approaches, stakeholder engagement, and work in international development contexts.
· Desirable Experience: System Dynamics Modeling software (e.g., Vensim, Stella), dashboard development, participatory modeling, and research experience in Ethiopia or East Africa.
