Haramaya University Management, Community Held Ceremony to Newly Promoted Professors.

Haramaya University conducted a recognition program for scholars who recently got their full professorship in a ceremony to seven newly promoted professors on June 09, 2022 at the University’s Resource Center.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Tesfaye Lemma, Vice President for Research Affairs, warmly welcomed on the behalf of the Management of the University &  said that young and old scholars who have worked hard to become professors have worked for the benefit of the University, the community and the country.

Dr. Tesfaye said the growth of the scholars is one of the indications that the teaching, learning and research activities of Haramaya University are contributing to the development of the country.

Haramaya University marks the first time in its 70-year tenure to award six full-time professorships to six scholars at a time.

On the welcoming occasion on the behalf of the University President, Dr. Jemal Yusuf, Professor Jeylan Woliye, Vice president for Administration and Student Affairs, congratulated the scholars on their landmark professional achievement and indicated that the current achievement is the result of their hard work, perseverance, persistence, patience, grit (bravery), sense of commitment, self-control and determination and work ethics.

During the recognition ceremony, Professor Chemeda Fininsa, former President of Haramaya University, Prof. Geyilan Weliyi and Dr. Tesfaye Lemma handed over awards to the seven Professors.
