Haramaya University Delegation Advances International Partnerships During a Visit to OeAD in Vienna

During the visit, the delegation held productive discussions with key representatives from several prominent OeAD-funded programs.
These included the Austrian Partnership Programme in Higher Education and Research for Development (APPEAR), represented by Julia Lichtkoppler-Moser; the Austrian-African Research Network (Africa-UniNet), represented by Nina Zuckerstätter; and the Cooperation for Development Research (KoEF), represented by Mag. Alexandra Grieshofer.

The discussions focused on the progress of ongoing projects funded through OeAD programs and implemented by Haramaya University, as well as opportunities for future collaboration and partnership development.

During the meeting, it was highlighted that Dr. Abdi Mohammed has six OeAD-supported projects, making him one of the most active project owners and coordinators from Ethiopia within the OeAD partnership framework.

The OeAD representatives acknowledged Haramaya University’s strong commitment to effective project implementation and commended the university for its smooth project management, transparency, accountability, and successful delivery of project outputs.
Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening academic cooperation, research collaboration, capacity building, and international partnerships between Haramaya University and Austrian institutions.
The visit further strengthened the longstanding relationship between Haramaya University and OeAD and opened new avenues for collaborative research and sustainable development initiatives.
