Haramaya University Capacity Building & Mentorship Project CBMP held Annual Review Meeting and Implementation Research initiation.

Haramaya University CBMP Project held annual review meeting together with Harari & Somali regions, and Dire Dawa Regional Health Bureaus representatives at Dire Dawa on August 07, 2021.

According to the project Head, Admas Abera In the forum, the 2013 EFY projects achievements and challenges in implementations, and the way forwards were discussed. Capacity building activities, mentorship of facilities, rigorous implementation research and Master’s research support were among the accomplished activities.
Two implementation researches were initiated in the program: one at Somali region and the other at Harari & Dire Dawa regions which are being carried-out by Haramaya University researchers in collaboration with MOH, and Harari and Dire Dawa RHB researchers. Phase one of the implementation research, the baseline assessment findings, has been finalized and disseminated, and the importance of active involvement of implementers was also raised in the event.
The implementation research dissemination workshop was also presented to management team of Harari and Dire Dawa RHBs on August 14, 2021.

During the forum, Harari Regional Health Bureau head, Mr Ibsa Ibrahim, indicated that these kinds of researches are important to inform policies in solving HIS problems of the region and the country as a whole. He also added the collaboration between Haramaya University and RHBs is bringing fruitful results in the area of Health Information System, and acknowledged Haramaya University CBMP project for their effort.
All regional representatives and the research sites have re-iterated that they will actively engage during implementation. The second (intervention) phase of the implementation research will start on August 18, 2021.
