Haramaya University, Fatuma Foundation, and Kenna for Kids Donated Ergonomic Wheelchairs in Eastern Hararghe
A collaborative effort between Haramaya University, the Fatuma Foundation, and Kenna for Kids with Disabilities has significantly improved the lives of individuals with disabilities in Eastern Hararghe.
The organizations recently donated ergonomic wheelchairs valued at 2,131,250 Birr.
According to Mr. Asad Fahmi, the donation’s coordinator, this impactful initiative aims to enhance mobility, dignity, and the overall quality of life for people facing physical challenges in these underserved communities.
Dr. Yishak Yousuf, Vice President of Research & Community Engagement at Haramaya University, explained that the donation highlights the university’s “unwavering commitment to social inclusion and community service.”
Dr Yishak further emphasized the critical role of multi-sectoral collaboration in addressing the needs of marginalized populations. By working hand-in-hand with local and international partners, Haramaya University continues to be a key player in advancing equitable access to health and mobility support services in the region.
