Haramaya University has entered into a new international partnership with Kuban State Agricultural University following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) facilitated by the Embassy of the Russian Federation and the representative of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Russian Federation in Addis Ababa.

The agreement was formalized during the Third Russian-African Economic and Humanitarian Forum held from 28-29 October 2026 in Moscow.

The MoU sets out broad areas of collaboration, including joint research and scientific cooperation, systematic and pedagogical engagements, and coordinated academic activities in fields of shared interest. It also establishes frameworks for academic mobility for bachelor’s, specialist, master’s, and doctoral students, as well as exchange opportunities for academic staff through symposia, internships, conferences, lectures, and seminars.

The MoU was signed by Dr. Jemal Yousuf Hassen, President of Haramaya University, and Prof. A.I. Trubilin, Rector of Kuban State Agricultural University, marking a significant step in strengthening HU’s global partnerships and expanding opportunities for its academic community.
