Haramaya University has an active and long‑running partnership with the University of Bergen (UiB) in Norway, beginning around 2005 through joint programs in public health, nutrition, and capacity building.

Haramaya University has an active and long‑running partnership with the University of Bergen (UiB) in Norway, beginning around 2005 through joint programs in public health, nutrition, and capacity building. The collaboration has grown through projects such as the NORHED and NORAD‑funded initiatives, which support PhD training, research supervision, and institutional strengthening. Core working areas include epidemiology, maternal and child health, climate and environmental health, and health systems research. This partnership has significantly contributed to building Haramaya University’s research capacity and expanding Ethiopia’s public health expertise.
