Haramaya University’s partnership with Cranfield University began in 2019, built around the collaborative NutriNuts Project, which focuses on improving peanut (groundnut) production, productivity, and marketing in Ethiopia. The partnership works on strengthening the peanut value chain, reducing aflatoxin contamination, supporting farmers and traders, and enhancing the use of peanuts for nutrition, income generation, and export markets. Field visits and joint trainings—such as the 2022 value‑chain assessments—demonstrate the partnership’s practical, research‑driven approach to improving food quality and livelihoods.
