  • Teaching & Training Experience

 

  • I have an effective teaching and training experience during my stay in Haramaya University as technical assistant I, II, III in the School of Animal Science and as a lecturer and assistant professor in the School of Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness. The courses I offered for undergraduate students of Agricultural Economics and other departments in the University include Microeconomics I and Microeconomics II, Mathematics for Economists, Introduction to Economics, Animal Health Economics, Farm Management and Economics of Agriculture.

 

  • Currently, I am offering Microeconomics and Farm management courses for Agricultural Economics Program post-graduate students and also involved in advising Agricultural Economics, and Agribusiness and Value Chain Management MSc students in various areas of specialization including Value Chain Analysis, Marketing, Productivity and Efficiency, Adoption of technologies, Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation related, Food System Transformation issues, and others.

 

  • Research Experience

 

  • I did my PhD dissertation on Participation in Agricultural Cooperatives and its Impact on Technology Adoption, Production Efficiency, Food Security and Income of Smallholder Malt Barley Farmers in Arsi Zone, Ethiopia. In this research rigorous analysis of technology package adoption intensity, production efficiency, food security indicators and impact evaluation were made.
  • My MSc thesis was on adoption and intensity of adoption of agricultural technology.
  • In my stay at Haramaya University, I have been participating in different data collection surveys including data collected for CASCAPE (Haramaya University cluster project). I also analyzed three rounds of data for CASCAPE project.
  • I advised and advising six MSc students and several undergraduate students on different research topics.
