Haramaya University in collaboration with the FDRE Ministry of Health (FMOH); Harari Regional State and concerned stakeholders launched an Improving City Wide Medical Emergency and Critical Care Services on 21 October 2020 in Harar City.

According to College of Health and Medical Sciences chief executive director, Dr. Yadeta Dessie the main objective of lunching Improving City Wide Medical Emergency and Critical Care Services is to establish standardized collaboration, coordination and communication system among stakeholders for better medical emergency and critical care services provision; to identify support packages and implementation mechanisms for better medical emergency and critical care services provision and to develop monitoring and accountability framework with its implementation mechanisms for the different stakeholders.

Dr. Yadeta added that Haramaya University in collaboration with the concerned stakeholders in Establishing and strengthening city based communication and coordination platform is working hard to take the nation’s health care services to the next level through human resource training and health care infrastructure.

The launching workshop was officially opened with a welcoming speech by His Excellency, Mr. Mr. Odrin Bedri, Harari Regional State Vice President and in his speech he addressed the impotency of lunching Improving City Wide Medical Emergency and Improving the accessibility and quality of emergency and Critical Care Service is essential and he promised to support and strengthening its Endeavour and will continue playing role to its level best with manner by collaborating with the necessary stakeholders.
