ABOUT

Background

The School of Environmental Health of Haramaya University was founded in 1998 under the then Faculty of Health Science to train medium professionals at the diploma level, and which later upgraded to produce Bachelor of Science graduates in 2004. Since its establishment, the school has trained and awarded more than a thousand Environmental Health professionals. In the school, there is a well-furnished laboratory for teaching/learning and research activities. The laboratory is equipped with facilities for testing the water, food, and air quality.

Mission

The mission of the Environmental Health school is to: produce qualified Environmental Health professionals, undertaking rigorous, problem-solving, and cutting-edge research; disseminate knowledge and technologies, and deliver demand-driven community services.

Vision

The Environmental Health School has the vision to become a center of excellence in the field of Environmental Health Sciences, research, and community service by the next 25 years.
