It is a two years program designed to equip students with advanced knowledge and practical skills in the
handling, storage, processing, and marketing of agricultural produce after harvest. It emphasizes
minimizing postharvest losses, enhancing food quality and safety, and promoting value addition through
innovative technologies. The curriculum integrates core scientific principles with applied research,
preparing graduates to address challenges in food security, agribusiness, and sustainable development
across diverse agricultural systems. To join the program, applicants must have Bachelor of
Science/Technology/engineering degrees in the fields of postharvest technology and/or engineering, such
as agricultural engineering, food engineering, food technology, food science and postharvest technology,
horticulture, dairy/meat technology and related fields of study.
