Background
The Water Resources and Irrigation Engineering program is designed to provide students with the necessary knowledge and skills to address the growing challenges of water management and agricultural irrigation. As global populations rise and climate change impacts water availability, the need for efficient and sustainable water use has never been more pressing. This program equips students with a comprehensive understanding of the hydrological cycle, water resource management techniques, and innovative irrigation systems to support agricultural productivity and water conservation. The curriculum blends theoretical principles with practical applications, focusing on the design, construction, and management of water supply systems, irrigation infrastructure, and drainage networks. Students will explore topics such as water quality management, groundwater resources, flood control, and the development of sustainable irrigation techniques that can improve crop yields while minimizing environmental impact. Through hands-on experience and advanced technologies like GIS, remote sensing, and computer modeling, graduates will be prepared to tackle water scarcity issues, improve agricultural resilience, and contribute to global water security in a rapidly changing world.
Mission
Mission 1: Excellence in Sustainable Water Engineering To provide high-quality education that equips graduates with a strong foundation in water resource management, hydrology, and irrigation engineering, promoting sustainable and efficient use of water resources through innovative design and engineering solutions.
Mission 2: Empowerment through Practical Skills and Technology
