Dereja.com in collaboration with Haramaya University, Job Creation Commission, Master card and other stakeholders conducted annual career expo program for graduating class of 2021 at Haramaya University main campus parking lot, October 26/2021.

At the ceremony Ms.Siham Ayele, Dereja.com program Director, said that the foundational objective of the program is to simplify the graduate students job hunting activities by connecting the graduate students with the employer organizations and giving trainings; how to develop attractive CV, expressing themselves, using email, exploring the employers profile and the need of the employers.

Dereja.com focused on building graduates’ capacity and making a linkage with the employers. The program has counted four years including this year, and during this time we have assisted fifty thousand (50,000) students to being employed in various organizations, said Ms.Siham.

HU’s Vice President for Academic Affairs, Professor Mengistu Urge on his speech explained that, to enable and connect the students with job market we have established offices that called Deliverology and Career development directorate. By working with Dereja.com we have gained a lot of advantages in related to developing the students’ practical capacity for the job market and connecting them with the employer organizations.

Haramaya University graduated more than 120,000 students since its establishment 1954, and these graduates employed around the world in different industries, said Professor Mengistu.

Ms Azebe Aklok from Federal Job creation commission said that, Job creation commission formed for the aim of creating jobs for the unemployed societies by supporting and connecting with employer organizations and to enable graduates to create job by themselves, in the country and outside of the country.

Mr. Abdeta Gutu Career Development and Deleverology directorate associate director of HU, Deliverology team works focusing on the students’ employment rate and where about the students, and the career development team also works on focusing on preparing and giving different soft skill trainings for the students starting from fresh man up to graduation, that helps to students to find themselves and enabling to express their potential for the employer institutions and for the job market.

On the career expo program more than twenty institutions from Addis Ababa, Diredawa and Harar were participated and connected with the graduated students.

Students who were participated in the expo appreciated the career expo program, and said they gained a lot.

This job fair was prepared for the second time in Haramaya University said Mr. Abdeta.
