1. MSc. in Public Health (General Public Health)

Admission criteria

In order to be enrolled in the Masters of Public Health (General Public Health) academic program, a student must satisfy the following requirements.

  • Candidates must be BSc/ MD holders in the field of health sciences.
  • All candidates must have at least a CGPA of 2.0 and above at graduation.
  • Students must pass the entrance examination

2. MSc. in Public Health in Epidemiology

Admission criteria

Prospective candidates must have:

  • Primarily an MD in medicine, doctorate in veterinary medicine or at least a bachelor degree in public health, nursing, environmental health or relevant experience in public health in case of a related field of study.
  • All candidates must have at least a CGPA of 2.0 and above at graduation.
  • Students must pass the entrance examination

3. MSc. in Public health in Field Epidemiology (FEp)

Admission criteria

The following shall be eligible for registration for the Master of Public Health in Field Epidemiology:-

  • A holder of a first degree in Health and Health related disciplines (health officer, nurse, medical doctor, environmental health officer, health education, pharmacist, veterinary medicine, laboratory technology, and applied biological science with public health services)
  • Candidates must be committed to full-time formal training, fieldwork, and related MoH activities.
  • Candidates must have a support letter from MoH or RHB and other relevant institutions.
  • Candidates must successfully pass an entrance exam and interview by the respective universities’ selection criteria.

4. MSc. in Public health in Reproductive Health  (RH)

Admission criteria

The candidate for graduate training program of Master of Public Health in Reproductive Health at Haramaya University should full fill the following requirements:

  • Applicants to the graduate program for MPH in RH should have a minimum of first degree in health and related field such as Health Officer, Nursing, Medicine, Midwifery and demography.
  • The applicant should take the entrance exam set for entrance and meet the pass mark fixed for that admission year.
  • Year of services set as screening criteria for that year
  • A minimum of two Letter of recommendation from his/her previous instructors or authorities of current work area

5. MSc. in Public Health in Nutrition (PHN)

Admission criteria

Applicants should have:

  • A minimum of first degree in health and related field
  • Must pass the entrance exam

6. MSc. in Public health in Health Service Management (HSM)

Admission Criteria

Applicants to the postgraduate for Masters of Public Health (MPH) in Health Service Management should have:

  • A minimum of first degree in health and related field
  • CGPA of 2.0 and above at the graduation
  • To pass the entrance examination
  • To have sponsorship (self or other)

To provide tangible two recommendation letters and reference

7. MSc. in Science in Clinical Epidemiology

Admission criteria

Prospective candidates and applicants to the Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology program should have:

  • A minimum of the first degree in medicine, or bachelor’s degree in other clinical oriented fields of study (public health, all nurses, clinical pharmacy or pharmacy, clinical psychologists or psychiatrists, dentistry, radiologist, ansthesist).
  • Should be currently working in clinical care,
  • Able to provide support letter from employers
  • Should pass an entrance examination.

8. MSc. in Public Health in Health Promotion and Health Behaviour

Admission Criteria

To be eligible for the Master of Public Health in Health Promotion and Health Behaviour, the candidate must fulfill:

  • First-degree holder in Health and Medical Science professionals and sociology, and psychology who are working the health science programs with a minimum of ‘two years’ experience in public health programs for the non-academic staff or one-year’ experience for academic staff.
  • Show a keen interest in the profession & can produce three recommendation letters from relevant offices or individuals.
  • Competitively pass the entrance exam prepared by the school.
