Admission to the School of Medicine Undergraduate Programs
- School of Medicine selects meritorious and passionate students after successful completion of first semester fresh man course, based upon academic achievement and informed self-selection. Given the importance of having valid, defensible, comprehensive and fair student selection criteria, the Schools has developed a defensible guideline on the selection criteria.
The criteria include
- Academic achievement (National entrance exam)
- Student interest
- Department Entrance exam result which is given after completion of 1st semester of freshman courses
- diversity (sex, disability and geography) and
- Absence of major mental and physical disabilities that could affect studying and practicing medicine. This is substantiated by expert’s opinion
Academic Year and Duration of Study
- An academic year for medical students are forty-eight weeks to fifty weeks except for fresh man course and pre-medicine which are semester based.
- All courses, except fresh man course and pre-medicine, are year-based.
