1. Admission Requirements
To be eligible for admission to the program, a candidate must:

  1. Pass national examination after two years of  preparatory program;
  2. Placement, within the University into the program shall be on competitive basis;
  3. Both sex shall be considered for admission; no gender differentiation; positive affirmative action towards female applicants will be there;
  4. Graduates with diploma from recognized institutions in a field related to law, economics, Agriculture, Public health, Language studies, management, social sciences, social work, special needs education, sociology, Anthropology, Journalism and Communications and cultural studies and other related fields shall be considered for admission as advance standing students.
  5. Candidates fulfilling the program entry requirements will be selected for admission based on merit.

2.Graduation Requirements

  1. Minimum of 240 ECTS
  2. Take and successfully complete all courses of the program; no course replacement for other departments except course(s) exemption for advanced standing students on the basis of earlier course coverage and in the case of physically and mentally unable individuals.
  3. CGPA of 2.00 or better and No "F" grade in any course taken.

3. Degree Nomenclature
Up on successful completion of the program, candidates will be awarded “Bachelor of Arts Degree in Gender and Development Studies” duly signed by the university president and the University Registrar on which the official dry seal of the University rests. The Amharic Version of the degree will be “የአርት ባችለር ዲግሪ በስርዓተ-ፆታ እና ልማት ጥናት
