Gurawa Crop Research Station is located in Gurawa district in Eastern Ethiopia at a distance of 61 km from the main campus of Haramaya University and 58 km from Haramaya town. The station covers 3. 23 hectares of land and it is serving for conducting research on all types of crops including cereals, legumes, vegetables, fruits, cash crops and forage crops. The station is located at a latitude of 9o08\u201913.9\u2019\u2019 N and a longitude of 41o51\u201909.5\u2019\u2019 E, and at an altitude of 2419 meter above sea level. The station receives annual rainfall of 931 mm. The mean temperature of the station is 14.58 \u00b0C with average maximum and minimum temperatures of 18.87 \u00b0C and 10.23 \u00b0C, respectively. The soil of the experimental site is a well-drained deep alluvial with a sub-soil stratified with sandy clay loam. The center has 9 permanent workers to facilitate and support the research activities in the research stations. <\/p>\n
