Hirna Research Station is located in Eastern Ethiopia at a distance of 140 km from the main campus and 368 km from Addis Ababa, and 100m from the main road of Hirna town. The station covers 2.35 hectares of land and it is serving as highland crops research station. The station is located at a latitude of 9o13\u201909.6\u2019\u2019 N and a longitude 41o06\u201929.6\u2019\u2019 E, and at an altitude of 1796 meter above sea level. The station receives annual rainfall of 1093 mm. The mean temperature of the station is 14.58 \u00b0C with average maximum and minimum temperatures of 18.87 \u00b0C and 10.23 \u00b0C, respectively. The soil of the experimental site is a well-drained deep alluvial with a sub-soil stratified with sandy clay loam. The station has 2 permanent workers to facilitate and support the research activities undertaking in the research station. <\/p>\n
