College of social sciences and humanities conducted training on attitude towards work and work environment<\/h1>\n

College of Social Sciences and Humanities in collaboration with Community Based Education Directorate offered training on attitude towards work and work environment for Haramaya University Model School teachers from April 23-24, 2016.<\/p>\n

According to Dr.Adinew Tadesse, Dean College of Social Sciences and Humanities, the training was intended to enlighten HU Model School\u2019s staff about the pivotal role of attitude towards work and work environment.<\/p>\n

In his opening speech, Professor Kebede W\/Tsadik, Vice President for Community and Enterprise Development, stated that attitude shapes the way workers perceive about work and work environment and contributes to either positive or negative thinking which in turn affects individuals\u2019 beliefs, feelings, and outlooks towards work and work environment which are either constructive or destructive.<\/p>\n

\"Professor<\/p>\n

Therefore, teachers need to be aware of the process of formation of attitudes in the society and their manifestations in individuals, particularly at the work place, in order to maintain the positive and avoid the negative ones. These manifestations of attitudes can be managed and transformed to have a dynamic and productive workforce.<\/p>\n

One way of curbing the negative manifestations of attitude towards work and work environment is through continuous training of the staff on issues related to positive thinking and behavior at the work place. With this ground, the training on attitude towards work and work environment for Haramaya University Model School teachers was organized.<\/p>\n

Dr. Sewnet Mengistu, Community Based Education Directorate Director, in his part asserted that such training is useful to boost teachers\u2019 knowledge and understanding of attitudes and how to change them to maintain a positive and optimistic outlook about work and work environment.<\/p>\n
