The college celebrated Sciences Day<\/h1>\n

Haramaya University College of Natural and Computational Sciences in collaboration with the office of Vice President for Enterprises Development and its Directorates celebrated \u201cSciences Day\u201d in the presence of students from the schools at the vicinity on May 30, 2019 at Main campus.<\/span><\/p>\n

The event was organized by the Department of Mathematics with the slogan: \u2018Science for Sustainable Societal Development\u2019 accompanied by various activities including visitation of onsite laboratories and execution of experiments explaining scientific principles in practice, and displays of banners with scientific information.<\/span><\/p>\n

Side by side, seven high school and five preparatory school students, 12 in total, who passed the first round screening, were competing in two groups for the final under the auspices of\u00a0Mathematics Olympiad.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

According to Dr Getachew Abebe, Dean of College of Natural and Computational Science, the main objective of the celebration is to invoke the interest of the students toward Science and Mathematics and also open up ourselves to the community at large.\u201d The event was also aimed to strengthen the linkage between the University and preparatory and high schools in the surrounding area.<\/span><\/p>\n

The half day celebration was concluded with the awards to the winning students of the competition and closing remarks by the organizers.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
