{"id":912,"date":"2018-10-17T22:57:32","date_gmt":"2018-10-17T22:57:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.haramaya.edu.et\/cebs\/?p=912"},"modified":"2025-07-14T07:51:30","modified_gmt":"2025-07-14T07:51:30","slug":"the-university-conducted-first-round-induction-training","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.haramaya.edu.et\/cebs\/2018\/10\/17\/the-university-conducted-first-round-induction-training\/","title":{"rendered":"The University conducted first round induction training"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1 style=\"text-align: justify\">The University conducted first round induction training<\/h1>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Office of Vice-president for Academic Affairs in collaboration with College of Education and\u00a0Behavioral Sciences, and Higher Diploma Program Coordinating Office organized and\u00a0conducted the first round induction training for newly employed and reinstated staff members.\u00a0The training lasted for 6 days from October 01-06, 2018.\u00a0According to Mr. Anwar Ahmed (HDP Coordinator), a total of 189 trainees took part in the\u00a0training and were drawn from 8 colleges from the Main Campus, Institute of Technology and\u00a0Harar Campus. So we should be up to date to<br \/>\nmake our students efficient.\u201d\u00a0Dean of the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences, Dr. Dawit Negassa, indicated that the<br \/>\ninduction training is part of the CPD trainings organized by the University with the ultimate purpose of equipping the newly employed and reinstated academic staff with pedagogical skills they can utilize in discharging their roles as teachers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-915 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.haramaya.edu.et\/cebs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/17\/2022\/12\/ind2.png\" alt=\"Dr. Dawit Negassa\" width=\"383\" height=\"258\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.haramaya.edu.et\/cebs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/17\/2022\/12\/ind2.png 383w, https:\/\/www.haramaya.edu.et\/cebs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/17\/2022\/12\/ind2-300x202.png 300w, https:\/\/www.haramaya.edu.et\/cebs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/17\/2022\/12\/ind2-84x56.png 84w, https:\/\/www.haramaya.edu.et\/cebs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/17\/2022\/12\/ind2-24x16.png 24w, https:\/\/www.haramaya.edu.et\/cebs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/17\/2022\/12\/ind2-36x24.png 36w, https:\/\/www.haramaya.edu.et\/cebs\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/17\/2022\/12\/ind2-48x32.png 48w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 383px) 100vw, 383px\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Dr. Dawit added that the objectives of the training were \u201cto acquaint the participants with the vision and mission of the University; make them be aware of the professional ethics of higher education teachers, introduce and help them identify and apply different active learning methods, as well as communicate with them the instructional planning and assessment techniques in their teaching.\u201d He added, \u201cIt is the University\u2019s principle not to let any staff to teach without attending the induction program. By its virtue, the teaching profession is not about making money rather living\u00a0for science and truth.
