Research
and Extension Coordination and Structure
Co-ordination
of agricultural research poses challenges at various administrative
levels.
There are challenges of duplication and overlapping of efforts.
A further problem occurs when services, such as procurement,
inventory, vehicles dispatch, repair and maintenance of the
same, come under a separate administration. The University has
a long established tradition and mechanism to coordinate and
harmonize the teaching, research and extension activities and
developed norms for discharging duties and responsibilities.
In
this regard:
TORs for research program coordinators, departmental research
& extension coordinators, FSR & Extension Coordinator,
Director of R & E, etc., have been in place. Accordingly,
Faculty Research & Extension Committees, FSR & Extension
Advisory Committee, University level Research and Extension
Advisory Council, Documentation Committee have been organized.
To enhance research and extension endeavors and expand the area
of coverage, the University commissioned Facility Research and
Extension Committees and established University level Research
and Extension Advisory Council to provide all the necessary
backstop.
