Haramaya University Receives $50,000 Medical Equipment

Haramaya University has received donation of medicine and medical supplies worth over 50,000 USD from Bread and Water for Africa, an affiliate to Christian Relief Services, on August 20, 2015 at the University’s Main Campus.


According to Prof. Kebede W/Tsadik, vice president for Community Engagement and Enterprise Development, the medicine contains 18 pallets of 60,903 pieces supplied in a 20 feet container. Likewise, the medical supplies contain 497 boxes weighing 6,123 kg of different types of items loaded in 40 feet container.


Prof. Kebede added that the transport cost of both consignments was covered by Christian Relief Services and the items were delivered directly to Haramaya University Main Campus. During the occasion, Prof. Kebede thanked the initiative made by Dr. Augustine Sesay and promised that the equipments would be used for the intended purpose with utmost care.
