Haramaya University’s English Language Improvement Centre in collaboration with the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences has conducted training for graduating class female students.

The training has been given to students in the Colleges of Natural and Computational Sciences, Education and Behavioral Sciences and Social Sciences and Humanities. More than 200 students have participated in the two days training conducted from February 28 – March 1/2015 aimed at improving students’ academic writing skills which would help them to produce effective senior essays and graduate seminars.

The trainees were grouped into seven different sections and well skilled staffs from the School of Foreign Language Studies have given the training.

During the closing session of the training, Dr. Getnet Demissie, the College Dean of Education and Behavioral Sciences and (GEQIP) focal person of the university stated that the training would strengthen the candidates’ research and technical writing skills. The trainees afterwards said that the training was delivered when they were in need of help on their senior essays and other advanced written works. Thus, the training to them was well timed and appropriate.
