A panel discussion on creating strong and sustainable relationship between university`s community and surrounding environment specially with  high school studentson developing social, economical & political activities has taken place at Haramaya University, on January, 30, 2016 at Harar Campus.

Haramaya University College of Health and Medical Sciences Chief Executive Director Dr. Yadeta  Dessie, in his opening speech, ” Creating strong and sustainable relationship between university`s community and surrounding environment are pivotal for students who are new to university atmosphere as it can equip them with the necessary information in order to tackle future challenges.” He also emphasized that all members of the University community should actively participate in the community engagement activities.

Harari Regional State Education Bureau a program coordinator of civic & ethical education, Ato Ambaw Gezahegn, on his part said such kinds of panel discussion are important in sharing their experiences, transfer the knowledge and all about preparing the students for real world gives a chance where they grow up physical, mentally, emotionally and socially to have training beyond high schools determines the rest of their life.

According to student Abdu Ibrahim, president of Haramaya University Health and MedicalScience Collage Student`s Union, the aim of panel discussion was to share their experiences, and transfer the knowledge as well as to create a fundamental basis for successive education level and future success awaking where the students start their journey for next steps in any intervention in the phase alters the situations.

The panel discussion came to close after the panelists respond to questions and comments raised by the audience. The panel was organized by thecollaboration of Haramaya University Health and Medical Sciences Collage Student`s Union and Harari Regional State Education Bureau.
