University Clubs

Helping students to succeed academically is only one aim of Haramaya University. Students are also given various opportunities to engage themselves in their spare time to do something productive. To this end, the University has more than 22 clubs for students of all abilities to join. These clubs are working on issues like: Anti-AIDS Movement, Girls Union, Environmental protection, literature, sport and different language clubs. They are mainly run by hundreds of students and University staff that campaign across a range of important issues. Even though these clubs are different from the lectures that are given in classrooms, the overall work of clubs is an extension of education that addresses a variety of interests by expanding the members’ awareness of previously unknown areas.
