Background of Institute of Technology

The Haramaya Institute of Technology (HiT) of Haramaya University established in 2004 at Dire Dawa sub-campus. Currently, HiT offers first degree (BSc.) training program in 10 fields of five/four years study durations, extension degree programs, M.Sc. Degree two years study duration in six training programs and one PhD study program. The institute hosts 6,148 regular program students in 2015/16 academic year (41.3% of the HU regular students). HU- HiT involved with a great experience in education, research and service to society in the field of engineering. The Institute is expanding horizontally and vertically year to year.
